Introduction

CHRIST (Deemed to be University) , a premier educational institution, is an academic fraternity of individuals dedicated to the motto of Excellence and Service. The University welcomes students from all over the world to a vibrant environment of religious and racial harmony, secularism and cultural diversity. The decision to study abroad is a life-changing one which allows students to take on a personal journey as well as an academic one .

CHRIST (Deemed to be University) is a fascinating place to study and we hope that you will decide to join us. In our eyes, internationalism signifies awareness, tolerance and understanding; to learn languages and discover cultures; to develop personally and professionally. The International Office is responsible for informing, advising and supporting students, staff and lecturers on all matters related to internationalism. We offer help in finding suitable programmes and guide you through the application process. We also provide support to our international students and guests of the University. The International Office is entrusted with managing the University’s international relations and the welfare of its international students.

Mission

To sustain the status of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) as one of the most internationalized among Indian Universities.

Number of international students and their Countries

492 students come from 50 countries, including Thailand, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Tibet, Zimbabwe, Canada, Afghanistan, Germany, Indonesia, Italy and Madagascar.

Admission procedure for International Students

Candidates falling under any of the below mentioned categories must apply under the International Student Category and will have a separate application process:

1. Foreign citizens

2. PIO (Person of Indian Origin) cardholders 

3. OCI (Overseas Citizens of India) cardholders

 

i. Provide evidence of passing the qualifying examination in English medium or have IELTS 6.0 with no sub-score below 5.5 or TOEFL (paper) 550, TOEFL (computer) of 213 or TOEFL (IBT) of 79 scores.

ii. Candidates without the above pre-qualifications will have to enrol either for Intensive Certificate course in English Language  (Full Time)         conducted from March to May each year.

Representative Body 

The International Christites Community (ICC) is the official representative body conducted by the Office of International Affairs and international students at Christ for the welfare of international students studying in the university.  

ICC functions to represent all international students in order to assist, advise, and to stand up for them in matters of common welfare and concern, to act as a liaison between the university administration and international students in the university, to build relationships with other students in order to enhance the engagement of international with students and events on campuses and enhance a sense of belongingness among foreign students at CHRIST (Deemed to be University).
