Overview on the Department

Our Department has grown drastically in terms of infrastructure,teaching methodologies and research facilities. The faculty members are a perfect blend of professionals with strong industry and research experience. Students have the privilege of getting involved in faculty research projects and being recognized at a National and International level. Modern training facilities are developed in collaboration with reputed industries. The latest versions of Industry demand software programmes like Ansys, Catia, Creo, Solid Works, Matlab, and STAR-CCM+ are taught either as a part of the curriculum or as value-added courses. Special training is imparted in core areas like- Tear Down of vehicles, Industry 4.0, Robotics, 3-D printing, CNC and also in inter-disciplinary and upcoming areas like Data Analytics, IoT and E-mobility. Eligible students have a golden opportunity to engage with industries for their projects during their final year. They are also encouraged to take part in co-curricular and extracurricular activities organized at different levels to produce more versatile, well-rounded graduates.

About the Department

With the collaboration of the Department of Mechanical and automobile engineering and ARAI, the students are provided exposure to the real world application of automobiles by several guest lecturers, auto expo visits as well as the students are helped to obtain internships and placements by ARAI. The proficiency improvement program conducted by ARAI also helps the students to improve their personal and professional skills.

Programme Eligibility

Eligibility for the programme is a pass at the +2 level (Karnataka PUC / ISC / CBSE / NIOS / State Boards) Examination from any recognised Board.

Candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at +2 level and obtained a minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and 50% in Mathematics.

Candidates writing the +2 examinations in March-May 2020 may apply with their class X and XI marks.

 

Students pursuing International curriculum must note that eligibility is according to AIU stipulations:

Applicants pursuing IB curriculum must have 3 HL and 3 SL with 24 credits.

Applicants pursuing GCE / Edexcel must have a minimum of 3 A levels with a grade not less than C.

Bachelor of Technology Automobile Engineering (Lateral Entry) [KEN]

Programme Eligibility

Candidates who have successfully completed the 3 year diploma in Engineering are eligible to apply for lateral entry into engineering programmes.

Does the dept host Internal fests?

The Departmental club "MAAC" hosts internal fests at equal interval of time every year

When can a student enroll for MBRDI Training?

A Student is given the oppurtunity from his/her "4th sem"to enroll for the selection process for MBRDI Training 

Can all the students join the IOC program?

A student with a minimum of 60% aggregrate in all his semesters and no current backogs can get enrolled for the program

What will ARAI do for the students?

ARAI will endeavour to organise workshops/seminars/conference jointly with the FE at the University on such terms as may be mutually agreed

What is ARAI?

Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) is co-operative industrial research association by the automotive industry with the Ministry of Industries, Government Of India The objectives of the Association are Research and Development in automotive engineering for industry, product design and development, evaluation of automotive equipment and ancillaries, standardisation, technical information services, execution of advanced courses on the application of modern technology and conduct of specific tests.

When is a student exposed to Open and Global elective?

These courses are a part of the curicullum in 6th and 7th semester

When can a student start doing research in the dept?

Interested students can start Choosing his/her Reaserch Guide from 3 rd Semester and enroll under them for Reaserch Activity
