About the Department
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at CHRIST(Deemed to be University) is one that encourages its students to be the best they can be.
The department boasts of Strong industry-academia interface with leading companies like CISCO, REDHAT and ORACLE Academy, as well as, Industrial tie ups for internships and project works with Ingersoll Rand, Code Tantra ATS, Infotech, Centre For Digital Innovation( Korean Indian Science and Technology), TCS.
With Webinars, industrial and alumni connect, workshops and mooc courses conducted and prescribed, students are encouraged to explore beyond the classroom. One such curriculum was IOC - Industry oriented curriculum, where dedicated students were given a live project from an industry to work and were monitored directly from the industry.
With faculty who are well trained in various fields like Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, Cryptography, Data mining, BIG DATA, Digital Image Processing, Cloud computing, etc. and a wide variety of labs such as the open source lab , Machine learning lab , CISCO Networking Lab which are specifically for students research and lab curriculum., students are encouraged to take part in a wide-array of activities that will allow them to become better engineers.
The department ensures holistic development of its students by conducting events that allow students to learn in creative and innovative ways, such as poster presentations and so on.

Programme Eligibility
Eligibility for the programme is a pass at the +2 level (Karnataka PUC / ISC / CBSE / NIOS / State Boards) Examination from any recognised Board.
Candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at +2 level and obtained a minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and 50% in Mathematics.
Candidates writing the +2 examinations in March-May 2020 may apply with their class X and XI marks.
Students pursuing International curriculum must note that eligibility is according to AIU stipulations:
Applicants pursuing IB curriculum must have 3 HL and 3 SL with 24 credits.
Applicants pursuing GCE / Edexcel must have a minimum of 3 A levels with a grade not less than C.
Lateral Entry:
Candidates who have successfully completed the 3 year diploma in Engineering are eligible to apply for lateral entry into engineering programmes.
