Dr Amar Kumar Pandey is a distinguished Indian Police Service (IPS) officer who began his illustrious career in 1989 after being inducted into the service with the 42nd Regular Recruit (RR), allotted to Karnataka cadre. His academic journey is marked by significant accomplishments, including a PhD from the prestigious National Law School of India University (NLSIU) in Bangalore, an MA in Economics from Delhi School of Economics, and a Master's in Human Rights from the Indian Institute of Human Rights (IIHR). He has served in key roles, including ASP in Gulbarga & Gangavati, SP in various districts, DCP, DIG in Planning and modernization, IGP, ADGP and DGP in crucial departments. Recognized for his valor, he received awards such as the Police Medal for Gallantry, Medal for Meritorious Service, and Medal for Distinguished Services. Notably, he was honored by the Karnataka government for the successful extradition of the infamous Don Ravi Pujari from Senegal (Africa).
