Overview on the Department
The School of Law offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral programmes in law as per the guidelines of the Bar Council of India and the University Grants Commission. It has a flexible curriculum offering several options in different areas of specialization. It is devised keeping in mind the requirements of legal profession and academia.
The programmes offered at the School of Law incorporate a number of special opportunities such as internships, clinical programme, supervisory research and writing. In order to promote interaction between students and legal professionals, seminars, guest lectures and workshops are conducted on various subjects of law at regular intervals. In addition to the mandatory courses spanning across a ten semester programme, the School of Law has also introduced numerous other value-added courses and programmes for the benefit of students.

Bachelor of Law (BA, LLB) (Honours) [BCC , LAV , NCR]
Programme Eligibility
Eligibility for the programme is a pass at the +2 level (Karnataka PUC / ISC / CBSE / NIOS / State Boards) in any stream with minimum of 45% (Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce & Management, Sciences) from any recognised Board in India.
Candidates writing the +2 examinations in March-May 2022 may apply with their class X and XI marks.
Students pursuing International curriculum must note that eligibility is according to AIU stipulations:
Applicants pursuing IB curriculum must have 3 HL and 3 SL with 24 credits.
Applicants pursuing GCE / Edexcel must have a minimum of 3 A levels with a grade not less than C.
Bachelor of Law (BBA, LLB) (Honours) [BCC , LAV , NCR]
Programme Eligibility

Master of Law (LLM) Constitutional and Administrative Law (One Year) [BCC , NCR]
Programme Eligibility
Candidates who have passed Undergraduate degree LLB (3 or 5 year courses) with a minimum aggregate of 50% and above, from any recognised University in India or abroad recognised by UGC / AIU, are eligible to apply.
Students appearing for their final degree examinations in March-May 2022 are also eligible to apply (Applicants who are in the last year of their studies in LLB (3 or 5 year courses) should have secured 50% or above aggregate in all the Semesters / Years of Undergraduate Examinations conducted so far).
Master of Law (LLM) Corporate and Commercial Law (One Year) [BCC , NCR]
Programme Eligibility
Candidates who have passed Undergraduate degree LLB (3 or 5 year courses) with a minimum aggregate of 50% and above, from any recognised University in India or abroad recognised by UGC / AIU, are eligible to apply.

Master of Law (LLM) Intellectual Property and Trade Law (One Year) [BCC , NCR]
Programme Eligibility
Candidates who have passed Undergraduate degree LLB (3 or 5 year courses) with a minimum aggregate of 50% and above, from any recognised University in India or abroad recognised by UGC / AIU, are eligible to apply.
Students appearing for their final degree examinations in March-May 2022 are also eligible to apply (Applicants who are in the last year of their studies in LLB (3 or 5 year courses) should have secured 50% or above aggregate in all the Semesters / Years of Undergraduate Examinations conducted so far).
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law [BCC , NCR]
Programme Eligibility
CHRIST follows University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degrees) Regulations, 2016 and the subsequent Amendments.
The minimum eligibility of candidates intending to pursue a doctoral programme is a pass with a minimum of 55% in the postgraduate programme in the discipline/specialization. Students who have completed their post-graduation from an international university must submit an equivalency certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
Every candidate has to take the PhD Entrance Examination and Interview to be held on June 13, 2021, or any other date announced by the office of admissions. However, as per the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degrees) Regulations, 2016 (#5.1), those who qualify UGC- NET (including JRF) / UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF) / SLET / GATE/teacher fellowship holder or have passed M.Phil Programme shall be exempted from the PhD Entrance Examination. Those candidates take a Research Skill Assessment Test along with their Personal Interview.
Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/ SLET/GATE/ teacher fellowship holder (KSET, SET etc.) or have passed M.Phil Programme may apply for PhD any time of the year by sending their Research Proposal and CV to phd@christuniversity.in
